Welcome Back

Wow! Where did Week 1 go?

Well....we all visited many places over the holidays and were very excited to be able to share our moments on Monday.
Then Mrs Sullivan introduced us to a poem written by P.Blanchfield. This poem took us on a journey through time. It was amazing to realise that the Grey River starts in the mountains and flows to the sea. Also the Grey River has a 'bar' where the ocean and river meet. We really enjoyed the journey so much that we wrote our own poems from the 'Now'
Then on Friday we shared some of our poems at assembly. Everyone really enjoyed making scones and butter for our shared lunch, as well as the old fashioned games. (Thank you Marsden Valley school teachers).

This week the Scholastic Book Fair is at Grey Main. Please support this by visiting and looking at all the wonderful books on display (The same people that Room 1 won all their books from).

Please remember to be working on your Flotation Device for Main Star
* Design and make a simple flotation device using recycled materials.  Have this ready to bring to the swimming pool to try on Friday 31 October.

On Thursday morning Room 1 discovered someone had been in their classroom.
We spent the day being CSI's and looking at evidence for clues. As a class we have a large list of suspects.
At the end of the day we felt less angry at this persons behavior but are still wondering WHY?

Welcome Back

Welcome to the start of another year.

This year your teacher is Mrs Thomas

Hello, I have been teaching at Grey Main for 5 years in Syndicate 3. I have 2 teenage children, that both attended Grey Main. I really enjoy art and reading a variety of books and authors. In my spare time I enjoy making hand crafts and eating small amounts of chocolate. I am very excited about 2014.

This year I will try to keep the class, parents and families informed about what we are up to through this blog. Please feel free to make quality comments that I can share with the class.
