A little visitor...

Ruby found this on the way to school today. Miss Gibson lent us the microscope...

We think it was a baby bush spider

The eyes looked black and glassy and the legs were very hairy.

Main Star Activities for Term 1








Parents and caregivers please act as “quality control”.  Only sign off activities that you believe have been completed to a good standard. (Don’t forget that evidence is the key to getting platinum at the end of the year i.e. photos, tick charts, a written response from someone who was there, etc.)
All  activities and evidence need to be handed in by Friday 27th March.






THINKING
   o   Share a story with the class during Read  and feed (Teacher will allocate time) Reading Roster

o   Plan a camp dinner or a camp lunchbox.  (To be handed in at the end of Week 3.)


MANAGING SELF
   o   Complete all homework as independently as possible and return completely filled in each Friday.

o   Borrow at least 7 books from the school  or  town library during the term. Include a list of books or library list as evidence.



 o Take and return your reading book to school each day. If there is no reading book, take one from your browsing box.


RELATING TO OTHERS
 o   Nominate someone for Take the Cake by email, letter, card or complete an act of kindness for someone in the school family or community.

 o Interact with someone new while on camp. E.g. Play a game, share  a meal and then write about it (This could be a  student or an adult.)


PARTICIPATING AND CONTRIBUTING
 o   Take on a new task or chore at home and complete until the end of the term.  Make a tick chart or include photos as evidence.

o   Share a game we could play on camp.  It could be an indoor or outdoor game.  Remember to list rules and equipment. (To be handed in by the end of Week 3)


USING LANGUAGE, SYMBOLS AND TEXT
o   Read a book and write a review to put in the library.
Include title, author, short blurb and a part you enjoyed.




Students must complete 6 Key Com Activities:
Gold Award = 10 activities completed;   Silver Award = 8 activities completed;   
Bronze Award = 6 activities completed
